Introduction
Several years ago my friends Szuszana Yegesi and Hans Olijerhoek settled in the neighbourhood of Budapest. They recently invited me on the occasion of my 90th birthday to visit their Hungarian home.
Together with my partner Ong Keng Sen they drove me to their new environment and showed us cultural and historical landmarks in the neighbourhood.
Out of the many impressions I have selected a few observations concerning the new Hungary that seems to be emerging today. As the observations were linked to specific moments I have preferred to number them seperately, though presently they seem to be linked by the idea of movement.
You will find these Seven Impressions of Hungary under Travels and Encounters.
