This great humanist poet permitted me after a while to call him ‘Zbiggy’.
I am glad to inform you about the upcoming Zbigniew Herbert International Literary Award ceremony, held on May 25th, 2017 at 9 p.m. (CET) and the event’s livestream.
The Zbigniew Herbert International Literary Award is given each year to a writer in recognition of outstanding artistic and intellectual achievements, inspired by the values and ideals exemplified in Zbigniew Herbert’s work.
At the ceremony, Breyten Breytenbach will give a speech and read his poetry. The Grammy award-winning Polish jazz artist Wlodek Pawlik will also perform.
